A union case is a great way to protect and display an antique image. The most commonly seen sizes are, from smallest to largest, sixteenth plate (not pictured), ninth plate, sixth plate, quarter plate, half plate, and full plate (not pictured). There are also several “CDV-size” styles, two of which are shown here. Union cases are made from a variety of materials, the most common being thermoplastic (as shown), paper, and leather.
