A really nice quarter plate tintype featuring a handsome young cavalryman standing before a camp scene backdrop. He wears a shell jacket, light blue trousers, a kepi, and heavy gauntlets. The pommel of his cavalry saber is cradled in his hands while a Colt revolver is tucked into his belt. The image is housed in a beautiful patriotic thermoplastic case (Berg 1-18 “Crossed Cannons”), which is in great shape except for one loose hinge. The image itself has a few shallow bends that are visible at particular angles.
