A really nice ninth plate ruby ambrotype featuring a young Union infantryman. He poses with two weapons—a knife in his hand and a Colt revolver tucked into his belt. He wears a standard federal frock coat to which the photographer has added faux shoulder boards. The man’s coat buttons and his cheeks have also been tinted. He wears a forage cap atop his head with a brass company letter “A” affixed to the front. A lovely and very clear image in great condition. It comes housed in a full thermoplastic case.
