An excellent and very appealing sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a young Union soldier standing at attention. He wears a standard frock coat, forage cap, and leather accoutrements. A rifle with fixed bayonet is at his side and a bowie knife is tucked into his belt. The photographer tinted the man's cheeks red, and his belt plate, eagle breast plate, and buttons all in gold. It is housed in a lovely brown full leather case.
