Attractive Belgian / Liège-made 7mm Pinfire Pepperbox Revolver with Original Ivory Grips
Attractive Belgian / Liège-made 7mm Pinfire Pepperbox Revolver with Original Ivory Grips
Item No. 5214227
Many European-made pinfire revolvers like this one were imported around the time of the American Civil War. This circa 1865 double-action–only example lacks an identifiable maker’s mark, but has the inspection hallmarks of the Belgian arms-producing city of Liège. It has a 1 3/4” pepperbox barrel that would fire a 7mm pinfire cartridge.. Elaborate scrolling on the barrel and frame. Very attractive original ivory grips. The tool screwed into the base of the grip is used to eject spent cartridges. Light pitting throughout with the original finish dulled to a dark gray. The action indexes properly and crisply with each pull of the spur trigger, and then resets when the trigger folds up. Overall length about 4 1/2”.
This item is classified as an antique firearm and can be purchased without an FFL. Iron Horse Military Antiques does not recommend firing antique firearms.
