Offered here is an interesting stereoview with the title, "Great Mortar Gun at the U.S. Naval Academy" in Annapolis, Maryland. The large-caliber mortar sits upon a platform with ammunition neatly stacked behind. Two officers or cadets are seated on the gun. The reverse is an advertisement for Edwin A. Carter's dry goods business in Upper Lisle, New York.
