CDV of Union Soldier Identified as George D. Beatty

$75.00

Item No. 5409615

A young Union private poses in this early-war CDV by Washington DC photographer R. W. Addis. The man wears a dark blue frock coat with dark blue trousers. A period pencil inscription on the mount identifies him as “George D. Beatty.” There were a few men who enlisted under that name, including some from Ohio and Pennsylvania regiments that would have been in and around Washington during the first couple of years of the war. Further research could strengthen the identification. Measures about 2 1/2” x 4”.
