This late-war CDV image features the striking bust view of a Union private of the Army of the Tennessee. He wears an unbuttoned infantryman’s frock coat over a vest buttoned only at the very top. Affixed to the front of his coat is a badge that perhaps is an identification disc on an eagle hanger. The man is unidentified. On the reverse is the backmark of Army of the Tennessee photographers Taylor & Seavey over a 2-cent revenue stamp. Measures about 2 1/4” x 4”. There is a vertical crease most easily seen on the reverse side. Some soiling to mount as shown.
