A young second lieutenant of the Union Army is pictured in this bust-view CDV. He wears his uniform coat unbuttoned with his rank insignia visible on his shoulders. A darker vest and paper collar are visible under the coat. His hair is neatly combed and he sports a bit of a handlebar mustache. There is no photographer’s mark, nor is the officer’s identification known. Measures about 2 1/2” x 3 3/4”.
