Late Nineteenth-Century Cabinet Card Featuring Boston Landmarks - Bunker Hill, Charlestown Navy Yard, & U.S.S. Wabash
Item No. 9819430
A very nice cabinet card featuring four landmarks of late-nineteenth-century Boston, but more precisely the Charlestown area. The Bunker Hill Monument is at the upper left. The open spaces at the upper-right and lower-left corners are the gun park and shot park at the Charlestown Navy Yard. The ship pictured at the lower left is the steam frigate U.S.S. Wabash, which since 1875 had been serving as a receiving ship at the Navy Yard. The photographer’s backmark is Alden Photo Co., Boston. Measures 6 3/4” x 5 1/8”. Excellent condition.
