An unidentified Union Army colonel poses in this sixth plate ruby ambrotype. He wears a double-breasted frock coat with an eagle visible on one of his shoulder straps. The photographer added gold tint to his buttons, shoulder straps, belt buckle, and scabbard throat. He wears a forage cap with a large embroidered hunting horn, indicating his was an infantry regiment. Seems like a fellow who could one day be identified. The image comes housed in a full case as shown.
